Madonna is reflecting on a difficult time in her life.

Nearly 10 years after her highly publicized custody battle with ex Guy Ritchie over their now 25-year-old son Rocco , the “Hung Up” singer admitted it is still one of the most excruciating memories to look back on.

“Probably one of the most painful moments in my life where I honestly couldn’t see the forest through the trees was when I went through a custody battle with my son,” Madonna explained during the Sept. 29 episode of O n Purpose with Jay Shetty . “Someone trying to take my child away from me, it was like you might as well just kill me. That’s really how I was thinking.”
