State and federal law enforcement are still investigating what led a man to launch a fatal attack at a Grand Blanc Township church, where he rammed his truck into the building and opened fire.

The attack on Sunday, Sept. 28 left a community and state reeling, and mourners searching for answers. At the same time, social media sleuths shared inaccurate information and a man was detained after allegedly trying to drive through a barricade near the church.

Everyone needs to take a breath, calm down and help the community pull through another tragedy caused by gun violence, said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer during a news conference Monday, Sept. 29.

"Today, this place has been shattered by bullets and broken glass. This might be a familiar pain, but it hurts all the same, every time," Whitmer sai
