PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Governor Larry Rhoden joined 24 U.S. governors in writing to Senate leaders urging them to prevent a government shutdown.
The governors’ letter was written to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso and Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin.
The letter asks the Senate to pass a “clean, short-term funding extension to prevent a government shutdown that would deeply harm hardworking Americans across our states.”
The letter is written by 25 Republican governors, who seek to pass the funding extension, which passed the House of Representatives.
