ANN ARBOR — It will be strength vs. strength when Michigan runs the ball against Wisconsin on Saturday.

The Badgers have the top-ranked run defense in the country, having allowed just 50 yards per game through their 2-2 start. Their opponents have had moderate or even great success on the ground in some of their other games.

Michigan enters Saturday’s matchup (noon ET, FOX) with the country’s eighth-best rushing offense (253.5 yards per game). Running back Justice Haynes ranks third in that category and has gone over 100 yards in each of Michigan’s four games.

“They’re big and stout up front,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said about Wisconsin’s run defense on Monday. He highlighted a pair of transfer edges: Sebastian Cheeks, whom Michigan recruited, and Mason Reiger.
