LAKE ARIEL, WAYNE COUNTY — Details were released for a shooting where police say a man shot at his parents and killed a security officer at a gated community in Wayne County.
26-year-old Lucas Gartrell from Lake Ariel has been charged with homicide after detectives said he shot and killed a security guard at The Hideout community after he shot at his parents.
Troopers were called to a reported shooting at The Hideout community on Oakwood Court and Lakewood Drive at 3 p.m. Sunday.
On the phone with a witness, police said they heard a man say, “It was my son, he was trying to shoot my wife.” Troopers said a second witness called 911, and a woman could be heard saying, “It was my son Lucas, he’s bipolar.”
The witness on the scene said they saw Gartrell’s father running toward their home,
