COLUMBUS, Ohio - With a new law requiring all Ohioans under the age of 21 to enroll in driver's training before taking their driver's license test set to take effect Tuesday, September 30, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a new app to help support families of new drivers.
Under the new law, any Ohioan between the ages of 16 and 20 must get their learner's permit and complete 24 hours of classroom instruction, eight hours on the road with a licensed instructor and 50 hours of supervised practice with a parent or guardian.
To help support families of new drivers, DeWine announced the new free app, "RoadReady Ohio," which allows parents to log their 50 hours of practice time, as well as track daytime and nighttime driving experiences.
