ATLANTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia’s high-school seniors recorded another all-time-high graduation rate – and significant year-over-year improvement – in 2025.

The four-year graduation rate rose to 87.2% – up from 85.4% in 2024.

‘BULLYING MUST END’: Heartbroken parents, classmates mourn Harlem sixth-grader

Classmates at Harlem Middle School are mourning an 11-year-old whose heartbroken parents blame bullying for the loss of their child.

The 2025 number is an all-time high since the state began using the adjusted cohort calculation first required in 2011 by federal law.

A total of 134 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates at or above 90%, and 60 districts recorded rates at or above 95%. Georgia’s statewide graduation rate has increased by 19.8 percentage points since 2011.
