Central Wisconsin has been experiencing warmer temperatures than normal since Sept. 12, and those high temperatures aren’t expected to drop anytime soon.
Roy Eckberg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Green Bay, told a USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin reporter Sept. 29 a ridge of high pressure is bringing dry and warm conditions to central Wisconsin, including temperatures close to record highs in the mid-80s.
According to the National Weather Service forecast, highs are expected to remain in the high 70s and low 80s throughout the week. Eckberg said the normal highs for the end of September to the beginning of October are in the 60s.
Eckberg said the extended forecast for the next 8-14 days shows a 70% chance that temperatures will remain higher than normal for this time
