Teachers had the opportunity to vote online from Saturday at 8 a.m. until Monday at 5 p.m.

Alberta teachers have until 5 p.m. Monday to vote on a proposed agreement reached by the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) and the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA). If the agreement is rejected, the ATA will move forward with a provincewide strike beginning Oct. 6.

The proposed agreement is a result of the latest round of bargaining, and while the details haven’t been publicly released, many have said it’s very similar to the previous offer .

A statement from the ATA on Sept. 24 said the agreement addresses salary and classroom complexities, as well as a commitment to hire 3,000 new teachers over three years.
