ESPN star Paul Finebaum has considered leaving his job at the network for a US Senate run after the Charlie Kirk assassination.

The college football analyst revealed he's had a "political awakening from Kirk's death earlier this month.

Finebaum has been a college football analyst for ESPN since 2013.

But the 70-year-old SEC Network host shared he is "considering" moving on from the Worldwide Leader to run for the U.S. Senate on the republican ticket following the shooting death of political activist Kirk .

During a recent interview with OutKick , Finebaum said that "one or two people in Washington reached out" to ask about his interest in politics .

Finebaum explained that Kirk's murder sparked his desire to get politically involved.
