NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- A man who was indicted for shoving a woman onto the subway tracks at the Chambers Street station has been sentenced.

The victim came face-to-face for the first time with the man who shoved her six feet down onto the subway tracks during the sentencing hearing.

The incident happened two years ago, but the 36-year-old mother is still visibly shaken and sobbed while addressing the court Monday afternoon.

Yanan Xu was in the courtroom with her husband, both recent immigrants who arrived from China just three months ago, to chase the American dream.

In August 2023, Xu was walking on the platform at the Chambers Street station around 11 p.m. when, out of nowhere, 43-year-old Samuel Junker came up from behind and shoved her on the tracks.
