Police name woman who was fatally shot Friday night in Montgomery

Police have opened a homicide investigation following the death of a Montgomery resident in a shooting on Friday night.

On Sept. 26 , MPD responded to a call around 6:51 p.m. about a person shot in the 500 block of Stone Street, which is about six minutes from downtown Montgomery, said Lt. Ernestina McGriff, a spokesperson for MPD.

On the scene, McGriff said officers came into contact with 34-year-old Jasmine Chillous, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead on the scene.

McGriff said that no more information is available, as the investigation into the incident continues.
