House Speaker Mike Johnson called out Democrats Monday as the deadline to fund the government and avoid a shutdown looms. Johnson, Vice President JD Vance and top Congressional Democrats attended a meeting with President Donald Trump in an effort to pass a stopgap bill. Senate Minority Leader and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries were also involved in talks, but no deal has been reached.
