HARRISBURG — Representatives of Pennsylvania counties, along with the commonwealth’s public school boards, joined Monday in urging state lawmakers to finalize the three-month-late budget.

Members of the Pennsylvania House returned Monday to the State Capitol to begin a three-day voting session. Next week, both the House and Senate are scheduled to be in session. While members of each chamber are on call to return outside of session days and vote on a budget deal should one be struck, there’s little optimism that will play out in the short term.
