SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTVO) — Despite the end of the federal tax credit on the purchase of electric vehicles, Illinois is offering a fourth round of $4,000 rebates on eligible EVs.

The newest round opens on October 28th, 2025, and runs until January 31st, 2026, or until funding is exhausted.

Low-income residents, who earn less than 80% of an individual county's low-income threshold, can earn another $2,000 rebate, bringing the available total to $4,000.

Eligible vehicles must have a selling price of less than $80,000 and not have been used for a rebate in any of the prior rebate
