An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Monday at 3:02 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 3:45 p.m. for Harney and Malheur counties.
Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) are expected.
"At 3:02 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Riverside, or 45 miles east of Burns, moving northeast at 35 mph," says the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas of blowing dust possible. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible."
Locations impacted by the alert include Juntura, Westfall Butte, Mosquito Mountain, Warm Springs Reservoir, Jonesboro and Riverside.
