While national attention remains focused on the tragic act of violence at a Latter-day Saint chapel in Grand Blanc, Michigan, the shockwaves of the incident have reached into the LDS here in Lethbridge.
As details continue to emerge about the Sunday morning shooting that left two people dead and eight others injured during worship services, Richard Low, Communication Directors with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lethbridge, says members had already received heartbreaking news earlier that day.
On Sunday morning, before the shooting, church members were informed that President Russell Nelson, leader of the LDS church, had passed on Saturday night. Then, just after the worship service the shooting occurred.
