EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is preparing to host a month-long academy that will provide residents with hands-on experience of day-to-day duties and responsibilities as a police officer.
The Edinburg Citizens' Police Academy will consist of free weekly sessions covering the following topics: • Patrol procedures • Criminal investigations • Firearms • Police driving • Police K9s
Classes will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday starting Oct. 7.
There will also be two Saturday morning sessions.
The Edinburg Police Department has not released times for the Saturday classes.
The last day of classes is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15.
All classes will be held at the LCPL Derek Hernandez Police Training Facility, located at 1309 N. Doolittl
