GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) - It’s been one year since Hurricane Helene swept through the Upstate and recovery work is still underway.

Two infrastructure projects are in progress right now in Greenville County.

South Carolina Department of Transportation officials said Hurricane Helene destroyed parts of the Upstate’s infrastructure. One year later, they're still working on repairs, including on South Hudson Street.

Unity Park in Greenville has become a go-to spot for people to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and connect with their community.

"It’s a bunch of nice people that be down here," Greenville resident, Charles Dotson said. "You meet a lot of strangers that speak and carry on and talk to you. It’s nice to come down here."
