HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 16-year-old was arrested over the weekend after police discovered he had kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young child.

The child, who police say was under 10 years old, called 911 on Saturday evening.

After arriving at the 100 block of East Third Street, the child told officers that a 16-year-old boy picked them up, took them to a secluded place, and sexually assaulted them.

The teen was located and arrested on suspicion of committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14 years old, forcible penetration with a foreign object, kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery, vandalism, and obstructing a police officer.
