DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver deputy sheriff was arrested by the Denver Police Department, according to a press release from the Denver Sheriff Department on Monday.
The sheriff department said that it was notified on Sept. 29 that Denver Deputy Sheriff Abdirahman Ahmed was arrested and faces charges, including: • False imprisonment • Second-degree official misconduct • Sexual contact — no consent
The alleged incident occurred while Ahmed was off duty, the department said.
Ahmed was placed on investigatory leave on July 6, 2025, by Sheriff Elias Diggins. He became a deputy sheriff in 2019 and is assigned to the Denver County Jail.
An investigation by the Public Integrity Division was opened, and the Office of the Independent Monitor was notified of the arrest.
