BJP national president J P Nadda on Monday constituted an eight-member team of leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to visit Tamil Nadu’s Karur and probe the circumstances leading to the stampede during actor-turned-politician Vijay’s rally, which left 41 people dead , on Saturday.

The BJP generally sends its own leaders to take stock of such incidents, but this time it has included MPs from its allies — Shiv Sena and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) — in the panel. “The BJP national president has constituted an NDA delegation to visit Karur, Tamil Nadu , and to look into the circumstances which led to this incident, meet the affected families of this tragedy and submit its report at the earliest,” the party said.
