CARTERVILLE — Veterans were invited to Lions Field on Friday for a ceremony recognizing their service during the Carterville Lions football game.

The event was part of the school’s Veterans Appreciation Night, which was planned by sophomore Dariyan Carney, Miss Southern Illinois Teen.
