HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — On March 13, 1958, serial killer Robert Eugene Brashers was born at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, according to an issue of The Daily Press, with he and his parents living at a home along Homestead Avenue in Hampton. As the Greenville Journal reported, when Brashers was still young, he and his family moved away to Hunstville, Alabama. After this, Brashers' ties to the Hampton Roads area became somewhat minimal.

"This is one of the most devastating and haunting cases in this city's history," Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said at a press conference Monday.
