ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Maxwell Golf Course is closing its doors for an undetermined amount of time while the City of Abilene accepts bids for investors to purchase the course.

The parking lot for the Maxwell Golf Course was full of loyal patrons trying to get one more game in on the old course before the fairways closed. Maxwell is a municipal course owned by the City of Abilene that is now facing management changes as the city is currently receiving sealed bids for the purchase of the course. The minimum bid starts for potential buyers at $1,330,000, but that price tag could go up, as course regular Raymond Blasingame explained.
