Jane Schnelle lives in Old Hickory. She joined Metro Councilmember Jordan Huffman's neighborhood group to help pick up trash at the Stewart’s Ferry Pike exit off of Interstate 40. Schnelle spent five-and-a-half hours picking up broken bottles, car parts, fast food and several pieces of plastic.

Schnelle said she's used to cleaning up litter in her neighborhood. She has a neighborhood group on Wednesdays where she collects trash from Donelson, Hermitage and Old Hickory. Schnelle noted that some hot spots are constantly pummeled with trash — like Lebanon Pike, the Stones River bridge and Central Pike.
