EXETER — A day before she was set to tee off in her fourth District 2 Golf championship tournament, Holy Redeemer senior Arden Brunn sank a hole-in-one during a practice round at Fox Hill.

The milestone seemed to be a sign of things to come for Brunn, who had qualified for the state championships three years in a row but hadn’t been able to capture a district title.

Brunn would not be denied on Monday, shooting a 78 to finish eight shots clear of the field and win the District 2 Class 2A Girls title for the Royals.

“It feels surreal,” Brunn said. “The greens were definitely tough, but if you hit in the right spots it felt easy.”
