WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —
Whether it’s old churches, downtown businesses, or houses, Jeannette City officials have been trying to get rid of dilapidated structures for years.
“In the last eight years, there’s been, approximately, 160 blighted properties in Jeannette,” Mayor Curtis Antoniak told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 Monday. “We once had a population of over 17,000 people. Now, we have just over 9,000 people.” Advertisement
At the end of last week, the city held a hearing for the owners of 19 properties.
