DES MOINES, Iowa (KWWL) — The school board is currently meeting to discuss the future of Dr. Ian Roberts after his education license was revoked by the State Board of Educational Examiners.
The board recently entered a closed-door session, where they might decide to place Roberts on unpaid leave.
The Department of Homeland Security reported that Roberts was arrested during a targeted enforcement operation on Friday. He is currently held in the Woodbury County Jail.
According to the agency, Roberts is originally from Guyana and received a final order of removal in May 2024. He also did not have work authorization in the U.S. Additionally
