CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Thousands of you had the opportunity to tour a piece of history while it was docked at the Cape Girardeau riverfront.

The LST 325 departed Cape Girardeau on Monday, September 29 after being docked for the past five days.

Its annual one-month mission to inform people is over, but what you may not have witnessed are the dozens of volunteers who keep the engines running and the history alive.

Cruise Director Ken Rupp was kind enough to give us a personal tour of a fascinating ship with many stories to tell.

The LST, or Land Ship Tank, number 325 made more than 40 trips across the Channel during World War II, delivering tanks, troops and supplies to Normandy.
