Officials are investigating after a Watertown resident found flyers near their home earlier this month calling to “kill the liberals,” police said.

Police responded to Cuba Street on Sept. 12 to a report of a political flyer with a possible threat, said Kenneth Swift, a spokesperson for the Watertown police. The resident, who had a political sign in their yard, found a handwritten page that said “Save America, kill the liberals.”

Police found ten more copies of the same flyer, seemingly photocopied, on the ground and sidewalks nearby, Swift said.

The home on Cuba Street had a sign in the front yard that said “In America, the law is king,” citing Thomas Paine, Swift said. The political sign also said “No kings.” He did not say whether or not the home appeared to be individually targeted.
