SEATTLE — Washington officials are actively preparing for the possibility that President Donald Trump deploys the National Guard to Seattle.

Mayor Bruce Harrell expanded on plans in coordination with Washington Attorney General Nick Brown at a Monday morning press conference. Neither have heard of any concrete intention from the Trump administration to deploy the National Guard in Washington state, but Brown said he believes "it is entirely possible" that Trump will attempt to do so.

Harrell announced he will sign an executive order in the coming days that will lay out how the city and its departments will respond if Trump does deploy troops.

"Our message to the president is very clear," Harrell said. "Stay out of Seattle."
