PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — After multiple incidents with flooding due to runoff from the Buckley Draw Fire burn scar, Provo City officials are preparing for the possibility of more runoff and debris flows.

To help prepare for this, crews have cleaned out existing debris basins and installed additional basins. This will help capture and slow down debris before it reaches the roadway and storm drains near the road.

In a social media post, Provo City said that they are working in collaboration with the land developer of the area to reduce risk, protect property and to keep community members safe while the extended debris flow channel is being constructed.
