University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia students organized the 5th annual Run with All Your Heart 5k to benefit nonprofit Curing Kids Cancer .

The students are on their way to becoming the next generation of leaders in health care and research, including the fight against cancer. Busy as their lives are as med students, they made time for this fundraising effort for children.

Their hard work paid off with the most successful event yet: more than 80 volunteers helped it all go smoothly as more than 370 runners ran and walked the course, raising more than $38,000.

The crowd that gathered as the USC School of Medicine campus played host to the event for the first time all came to support the same cause, but for some it was especially personal.
