Fort Huachuca gate hours change due to staff shortages

FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. (KVOA) - Fort Huachuca is set to adjust its gate operations starting Oct. 1 due to ongoing personnel shortages.

The Van Deman Gate will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will be closed on all weekends and holidays. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Soldier Gate will remain open 24/7.

The Van Deman Gate Visitor Control Center will mirror the gate's hours, issuing extended passes and handling weapons registration applications for later pick-up.

When the Van Deman Gate and Visitor Control Center are closed, limited 30-day passes will be available at the Buffalo Soldier Gate.

Brainard Road will provide convenient access to the Buffalo Soldier Gate for motorists exiting the Fort when the Van Deman Gate is closed.
