EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - It feels like summer outside, but it is starting to look like fall in the Chippewa Valley. The stretch of warm weather should be good news for anyone hoping for vibrant fall colors.

Andy Sorenson is a forestry team leader with the Wisconsin DNR. He says the conditions are right for a beautiful next couple of weeks.

The warm weather has allowed for trees to avoid the main stressors that would cause leaves to lose vibrancy and fall too early.

Those stressors are drought and frost. We have had plenty of rain through the summer and early fall and it has gotten cool at night but not cold enough to freeze. Sorenson says that should mean lots of vibrant colors for much of October.
