CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- Illinois' Kenna Phelan has been named Big Ten Setter of the Week after a week of tough conference wins.

The Florida State transfer averaged 9.4 assists and 2.4 digs per set in Illinois' wins over Oregon and Purdue. She has four double-doubles on the young season, with Illinois recording kills on more than 40% of her assists.

Phelan is the first Illinois setter to earn weekly honors since 2021.

Illinois picked up its first ranked win of the year against No. 10 Purdue in four sets, rallying from five behind in the winning set. Life on the road in the Big Ten continues as the Illini head to Madison to take on the No. 7 Badgers on Thursday, October 2.
