LOS ANGELES – The first family of modern animated television is set to make their return to the big screen.
20th Century Studios announced in an Instagram post on Monday, Sept. 29, that “ The Simpsons ” will have a second movie released on July 23, 2027.
No plot information was revealed, but Homer is seen grabbing a signature pink-frosted doughnut covered in “2” sprinkles, with the tagline “Homer’s going back for seconds.”
The currently untitled film appears to be a sequel to the 2007 film “The Simpsons Movie,” which raked in $536 million at the global box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film industry news outlet reported that “The Simpsons’” sequel will replace an untitled Marvel film in a release schedule released by Disney, which owns 20th Century Studios. USA
