SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — Crowds flocked to McConnells Mill State park over the weekend of Sept. 27 and 28 for the 32nd Annual McConnells Mill Heritage Festival, organized by the Rotary Club of Portersville-Prospect.
The park’s largest event of the year is a celebration of the late 19th century, the time when the park’s main attraction — the historic grist mill — was in active operation and a major part of the county’s industry.
Unlike last year, when a day of rain marred the Sunday of the Heritage Festival, this year’s second day was bright and sunny, causing the Rotary Club to dream big.
