A high-profile progressive analyst warned on Monday that President Donald Trump's latest executive order is "more dangerous than it looks."

Progressive YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen discussed Trump's executive order targeting the left-wing group Antifa on the latest episode of his podcast, "Brian Tyler Cohen." The order was signed shortly after the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed during a speech at a Utah university earlier this month.

The Trump administration and MAGA influencers were quick to denounce Kirk's killing as an example of left-wing terrorism, even though law enforcement officials have offered scant evidence tying the alleged shooter to an extremist left-wing group.

"He's covering every base he can here," Cohen said. "And if he's not going after you personally, he is doing everything he can to have a chilling effect on anyone even thinking about speaking out."

"Trump wants this executive order to focus not on a specific group, but rather on an amorphous idea," Cohen added. "Why? Because then he can bunch anybody he dislikes into this group. It is expressly because Antifa isn't a real thing that he can say that someone he doesn't like is part of Antifa."

"Remember, he has sued or attacked law firms aligned with the left, universities aligned with the left, media outlets aligned with the left, nonprofits aligned with the left, and now, this is his way of going after regular people who are aligned with the left," he continued.
