A new spin-off centred on Langda Tyagi, the unforgettable character from Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara (2006), is reportedly in the works. According to reports, the project is currently in the scripting stage, with production likely to begin in next year. While Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of the scheming Tyagi remains one of his most acclaimed performances, it is not yet confirmed whether the actor will return to the role. The makers are said to be exploring the idea of recasting, citing the character’s lasting cultural impact. The buzz is that since the character has received so much love by cinema buffs, the producers are seeing strong potential in expanding the Omkara universe through his story.
