WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins city leaders have paused a proposal to rezone a 24‑acre parcel near Corder and Houston Lake roads that could allow more than 200 new homes, sparking debate over traffic, transparency and how fast Warner Robins is growing.

The property’s owners asked in July to change zoning from commercial to residential for multi‑family housing. But Warner Robins City Council paused talks, demanding a traffic study before making further decisions, citing concerns that congestion could worsen in one of the city’s busiest corridors.

Meanwhile, neighbors urge that new development shouldn’t come at the expense of longtime community character.
