GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan’s elected officials are voicing their condolences, and their concerns, following the deadly church shooting in Grand Blanc.
They’re calling for action, in hopes of preventing something like this from happening again.
“Unfortunately, Michigan has seen, I think 5 mass shootings in the past 4 years,” said Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin.
The tragedy has left elected officials sad and outraged.
Officials on both sides of the aisle shared their heartbreak and anger over the shooting.
Democratic officials went farther, examining the state’s gun control laws.
“We’ve done a lot in our state to try to combat this sort of extremism, you know, we have passed a new hate crimes law, a new, uh. Constitutional desecration law and we also have extreme risk prot
