D.J. Sharpless doesn’t really look at standings in North Catholic’s Class 2A Section 2. In fact, he doesn’t really look at records throughout 2A.
North Catholic (9-3, 5-2) began Monday morning in third place, behind Freeport (10-1, 6-0) and Burrell (8-3-1, 5-2-0). However, after a 2-0 victory against the Bucs, the Trojanettes slid up to second place.
“It’s a big win for us,” Sharpless said. “There’s no upsets in 2A soccer this year. Anybody can beat anyone on any given day. There’s not one team ahead of everyone else. Burrell is an awesome team; Freeport is an awesome team. But we’re all equal. We’re all right there.”
