NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) - The Nacogdoches County Hospital District has reinstated their property tax in order to help fund Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
In a public hearing on Sept. 16, the district's elected board of directors approved a new property tax rate of 3.632 cents per $100 of property value. Hospital district officials said this will help them to keep up their much-needed work.
"The excellent thing is, it's the quality and the patient care that we're known for and we're excited about that because patients come first and foremost as we move forward," interim Nacogdoches County Hospital District CFO James Pool said. "There are other strategic initiatives that we are currently looking at to insure that the hospital continues to be here to serve those needs."
