A former corrections officer at SCI Forest State Penitentiary was charged after sexually assaulting two newly hired officers in May, authorities said.

Garrett Smead, 29, of Warren County, was charged with multiple misdemeanor counts, including indecent assault forcible compulsion, unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury, indecent exposure, and related offenses.

According to a press release from the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Smead handcuffed two recently hired officers at the prison, removed his clothing and sexually assaulted them during two separate incidents on May 21.

In one incident, Smead wrote “Property of G. Smead” on the victim’s body, officials said. Both victims were left handcuffed until other officers arrived and freed them.
