YouTube , which is owned by Alphabet , has agreed to pay USD 24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by US President Donald Trump , according to a Reuters report. The lawsuit, which Trump had brought against YouTube, was about the suspension of his account on the popular video streaming and sharing platform after the January 2021 Capitol riots . With this settlement, Google is the last of the three major tech companies to resolve lawsuits brought by Trump in July 2021. Trump had also sued Twitter (now X, owned by Elon Musk) and Facebook’s parent company Meta. Both Meta and X had agreed to pay in order to settle the lawsuits.
