SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- One person died and three others were seriously hurt in a suspected DUI crash over the weekend on State Route 76 in the Pala area.
The two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday around 1:45 a.m. on SR-76, located east of Magee Road, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Monday.
A 21-year-old man from Pala was driving a white Dodge Durango when for unknown reasons he lost control and spun into the opposing traffic lane, crashing head-on into a white Honda Civic driven by a 54-year-old man of Apple Valley, CA, according to authorities.
The driver of the Dodge, his 25-year-old passenger and the driver of the Honda were all taken to the hospital with major injuries, per CHP.
However, the right-front passenger of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene
