Imphal, September 29 2025: In view of the increasing challenges posed by natural disasters and recurring floods in Manipur, the Office of MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has facilitated the handing over of essential rescue equipment to the Manipur Fire Department under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) for 2025-2026.The equipment handed over includes - 1 inflatable rubber rescue boat, 1 Suzuki OBM, 8 adult life jackets and 4 Lifebuoy rings.

As per a release issued by the office of the MP, the equipment will strengthen the capacity of the Manipur Fire Department to respond swiftly and effectively to floods and other natural calamities.
