A Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) functionary died by suicide in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, leaving behind a note in which he blamed DMK Minister Senthil Balaji and the police for the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives during party chief Vijay’s campaign.

The deceased, identified as 51-year-old Ayyappan, was a TVK functionary who had travelled to Mayilam village three days ago to visit his elderly parents. On Monday, he was found hanging inside a room while no one was present. His mother Muniyammal discovered him and alerted others, following which the Senji Police were informed.
